Brickcem ConmateBrickcem Conmate

Lighter than water. Stronger than the standard.

AIWON AAC blocks are three-quarters air, so they float. Independent NABL labs measured an average 4.85 N/mm² where IS 2185 asks for 4.0. Made by Brickcem on a fully automatic line in Kapadvanj, Gujarat.

A real-size AIWON block, 600 × 200 × 150 mm, at the density the labs measured. Drag it under and let go — or drop a red brick next to it.

Three-quarters of every block is air.

In the mixer, a pinch of aluminium powder reacts with lime and cement and lets off hydrogen. The wet mass rises like bread, millions of closed cells form, and high-pressure steam turns the cake to stone. The air stays locked inside — that is what keeps heat out, keeps the weight down, and keeps a block afloat.

630kg/m³

Average dry density in independent lab reports — a third of a red clay brick.

0.17W/m·K

Average thermal conductivity. Red clay brick is around 0.81.

4.85N/mm²

Average compressive strength. IS 2185 Grade 1 asks for 4.0 at this density.

The afternoon test

A west wall in Ahmedabad in May. The sun reaches it at noon and the face heats past 55 °C. Slide through the day and watch the heat travel through a 230 mm brick wall and a 200 mm AIWON wall into a room cooled to 26 °C.

Heat the AC must remove in a day: — kWh through brick, — kWh through AIWON.

—

less heat through the wall — about — units of electricity over a 100-day summer with an ordinary AC.

How this is worked out: heat flow through a single-material wall, calculated every few seconds over four days until the days repeat. Air 28–42 °C, afternoon sun on a mid-grey face, room held at 26 °C, AC efficiency 3. Brick 1,900 kg/m³ and 0.81 W/m·K; AIWON 630 kg/m³ and 0.19 W/m·K, as measured. Plaster, shade and colour change the numbers for a real house, not which wall wins.

Measured, not promised

The average of independent NABL-accredited lab reports, against the limits IS 2185 sets. The green band is where the standard wants the result; the dot is AIWON.

Six stamps in the passport

Every AIWON block travels on the same papers: a BIS licence to IS 2185, the CII GreenPro ecolabel, three ISO management systems and IGBC membership. We show them as stamps — tap one and the original is a click away.

Not all AAC is the same AAC

Most AAC in the market is made on mixed or semi-manual lines, where the result depends on who is on shift. Brickcem was built to remove that guesswork.

Predictability is engineered

Five stations, one programme, no shortcuts. The plant at Salod, Kapadvanj was built as a manufacturing system, not an assembly operation.
