Home / Why AIWON

Don’t build a bunker.

Red brick looks cheap per piece. Then the building pays for its weight in steel, its joints in mortar, its unevenness in plaster, its heat in electricity and its curing in water and time. Here is the sum, laid out so you can check it.

The weight the frame never has to carry

Red clay brickwork weighs about 1,900 kg/m³; AIWON about 630. Every tonne taken off the walls comes off the beams, then the columns, then the footings.

Brickcem’s engineers put the result at about 15% less structural steel on a typical frame. Your structural engineer will give you the exact figure for your building — bring them these numbers.

One square metre, two ways

The same metre of wall. About 50 brick faces and a web of thick joints — or a little over eight AIWON blocks and hairline joints. Fewer pieces means fewer lifts, fewer joints and fewer mistakes.

Conscious construction

Brickcem’s vision is to lead India’s shift from conventional construction to conscious construction: walls that burn no topsoil, reuse fly ash, need less steel and less cooling for as long as the building stands.

AIWON blocks carry the CII GreenPro ecolabel (GPBCP551001), and the plant runs under ISO 14001 environmental management.
